Weald emerges from the low-lying fields of West Oxfordshire as a quiet cluster of stone dwellings defined by the patient pace of the surrounding agricultural plains. It lies 3.3 miles south-south-east of Carterton (from Carterton: bearing 149°T, OS grid SP 308 022), and is situated south-south-west of Bampton village.
