It lies 1.5 miles south-south-west of Whitchurch (from Whitchurch: bearing 204°T, OS grid SJ 531 393), and is situated north-west of Tilstock village. To the north-north-west, the earth rises in a subtle, ancient mound where the ruins of Pan Castle remain as a silent sentinel over the surrounding pastures.
