Easthope rests in a fold of the Shropshire landscape, a quiet collection of dwellings where the land slopes gently towards the west. It lies 7.2 km south-west of Much Wenlock (from Much Wenlock: bearing 230°T, OS grid SO 566 952), and is situated north-west of Brockton village. The air here often carries the scent of damp earth and distant woodsmoke, a testament to the surrounding agricultural fields which, in the late afternoon sun, can glow with an almost ethereal golden light. The lanes leading into Easthope, often bordered by ancient hedgerows, seem to invite a slower pace, as if the very stones underfoot remember a time when journeys were measured by the day rather than the hour. The clustered houses, some of brick, others of local stone, present a pleasingly varied, yet harmonious, aspect, their roofs catching the shifting patterns of cloud across the sky.
