It lies 2.2 miles south-south-west of Midsomer Norton (from Midsomer Norton: bearing 212°T, OS grid ST 645 512), and is situated west-north-west of Stratton-on-the-Fosse village. To the south-west, the rise of Blacker's Hill commands the horizon, bearing the silent, grass-grown earthworks of an ancient multivallate promontory fort that watches over the passing centuries.
