Crowcombe rests in a fold of Somerset's Quantock Hills, its stone cottages catching the soft, diffused light of the South West. It lies 9.7 km south-east of Watchet (from Watchet: bearing 133°T, OS grid ST 140 366), and is situated north-west of West Bagborough village. The village green, a sweep of well-trodden grass, offers a quiet gathering place, its edges softened by ancient trees. Dominating the skyline is the parish church of the Holy Ghost, a fine example of Perpendicular Gothic architecture, its tower a sentinel against the ever-changing sky. The surrounding landscape, a patchwork of verdant fields and wooded slopes, whispers of a time when agriculture was the lifeblood of Crowcombe.
