It lies 3.4 miles west of Wells (from Wells: bearing 266°T, OS grid ST 493 453), and is situated west of Wookey village. The horizon here is defined by the gentle slope of Yarley Hill, which rises to the southeast as a silent sentinel over the fields. Waters move with a deliberate, sluggish grace through the nearby Upper Old Enclosure Rhyne, carving thin, silver veins into the heavy, verdant earth.
