Salt-laden breezes sweep across the flat, open expanses that define the character of Pagham. It lies 3.4 miles north-east of Selsey (from Selsey: bearing 38°T, OS grid SZ 886 975), and is situated east of Sidlesham village. Much of Pagham rests within the Pagham Harbour SSSI, a sanctuary where the tide dictates the slow pulse of the local landscape.
