It lies 2.9 miles north-north-west of Wilton (from Wilton: bearing 344°T, OS grid SU 083 356), and is situated east-north-east of Great Wishford village. The River Wylye traces a silver, serpentine path past the doorsteps, where the afternoon light catches the water with a pale, metallic clarity.
