Amendolea is a hamlet within the wider comune of Reggio di Calabria, set upon the hills where the ground rises toward the Costa Padella and Longo di San Giuseppe. The landscape is defined by the earth of the Vallone di Trunca and the nearby Vallone del Palombaro, where the air holds a persistent, cooling stillness. Nearby, the Castello di Sant'Aniceto keeps watch over the slopes.
