Reading the map like an IGM sheet. Cataforio is a small village situated in the hilly landscape of the Reggio di Calabria comune, cradled between the Fiumara di Sant'agata and the slopes of Monte Ciana. The air here carries a sharp, clear intensity, moving across the ridges of Serro Ciugna toward the distant coast of Messina. While the village remains quiet, the wider area holds the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, which guards ancient treasures, and the Aragonese Castle, whose stone walls anchor the urban horizon. Nearby, the Lungomare Falcomatà offers a long, open path along the water, where the light changes constantly against the sea.
Cataforio è un piccolo centro situato nel paesaggio collinare del comune di Reggio di Calabria, adagiato tra la Fiumara di Sant'agata e le pendici di Monte Ciana. L'aria possiede una nitidezza particolare, muovendosi lungo i crinali di Serro Ciugna verso la costa di Messina. Mentre il villaggio mantiene una sua quiete, il territorio circostante accoglie il Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Reggio Calabria, custode di memorie antiche, e il Castello Aragonese, le cui mura definiscono l'orizzonte urbano.
