Reading the map like an IGM sheet. Click Grid to lay a labelled UTM grid over the map, quoted along the edges the way a printed IGM 1:25 000 tavoletta quotes it — at normal zoom the squares are one kilometre across, so a six-figure reference can be read by eye and distance judged straight off the map. Guello occupies a quiet position within the comune of Oliveto Lario, perched where the mountain air meets the expansive Ramo di Lecco. The land here is defined by the proximity of Valle Valdolino and Valle Casole, carving paths through the slopes above the water. A short distance away, the Ara Celtica remains as a silent marker of older occupations, while the nearby summit of Dosso Maggiore offers a vantage point over the shifting light of the lake.
