Reading the map like an IGM sheet. Click Grid to lay a labelled UTM grid over the map, quoted along the edges the way a printed IGM 1:25 000 tavoletta quotes it — at normal zoom the squares are one kilometre across, so a six-figure reference can be read by eye and distance judged straight off the map. Escovedu is a small village within the comune of Usellus, set among the undulating hills of Sardegna. The local landscape is marked by the presence of Cuccuru Ilixi, a summit rising directly in the village, and the steady flow of the nearby Funtana Uralla spring. To the south, the terrain opens toward the area of S. Elena and the wider expanse of Pixina Manna. Beyond the immediate slopes, the skyline is defined by the distant Monti del Gennargentu, while the ancient Cattedrale dei Santi Pietro e Paolo remains a significant presence in the countryside nearby.
